Helping Hands aims to provide universal support services to people with disabilities, mental illness. We believe that everyone has the potential to make a positive change in their life with the right support and assistance.
Being a carer is an emotionally and physically demanding job that can deplete your energy over time. Regardless of who you’re caring for, it’s important to take regular respite so that both you and they can have time apart, opportunities for new experiences and socialise with other people. We offer short-term respite from experienced and compassionate support workers to relieve carers and maintain positive relationships.
Carers need support too. Make use of our respite services here.
Bringing positive changes into the lives of people with disability and mental illness.
We offer a range of drop-in services to support independent living. This includes personal care and attendant care, as well as help and advice on moving into independent accommodation and access to education and opportunities to learn new skills. When a support worker visits your home they are there to support you with whatever you need to build on your living skills to work towards a more independent lifestyle.
Helping Hands is run by people who have lived with or are currently living with disability, mental health and social issues so we understand the challenges facing people in these situations.
